Senior CNC Machinist/Department Lead

Direct Hire/Benefits

Shift: Day Shift, M-F, Full-time

Compensation: $30 – $40/hr. + 401k

Location: Marion, NC

Position Summary:

We are seeking a senior-level CNC Machinist to lead machining department operations with extensive experience setting up and operating CNC mills & lathes in a fast-paced and demanding manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in G-code and a strong desire to advance their knowledge of CNC machining. This role involves leading CNC operations, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, and requires the ability to work independently and perform physical tasks. Located in Marion, NC, this full-time position offers a competitive benefits package and requires a commitment to quality and efficiency.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Leading CNC operations while reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer.

• Independently set up CNC Mills & Lathes, including but not limited to:

o Mazak Quick Turn 10 with Mazatrol controls.

o Okuma LT2000 with OSP P200LA control.

o Miyano BNA 42GTY with Mitsubishi M70/700 3 path control.

o Tsugami Swiss Lathe B0-326-3 with Fanuc 32i-b control.

o Haas Mills with Haas controls.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, such as bad threads and surface finish, and make necessary corrections to facilitate efficient cycle times.

• Perform part inspections using available equipment and ensure quality control.

Absolute Minimum Requirements:

• Extensive experience setting up and operating CNC machines.

• Ability to troubleshoot program errors (G-code) or make changes to programs at the machine-level.

• Must possess own tools.

• Ability to pass company pre-employment testing.

• Must possess reliable transportation.

• Handle physical activities like lifting up to 50 pounds, balancing, walking, and stooping.

Additional Experience:

• Experience with Swiss CNC lathe setup is preferred but not a deal breaker.

• Advanced knowledge of CNC machine work is highly desirable.

• A strong desire to learn and implement the latest technologies in CNC machining.
