Manufacturing Engineer

Position Description

An opportunity for a person possessing a BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering degree to work with a fast paced small-sized company which manufactures electronic and mechanical hardware for the defense industry.


Job Description: Common Processes
  1. Manufacturing Engineer (ME) responsible for all aspects of development, documentation, work instructions, and production support from concept through sustaining activities
  2. Will interface with design, process engineering, production engineering, operations and program management
  3. Will provide production analysis on mechanical and electro-mechanical designs and manufacturing techniques and processes
  4. Will assist production teams in meeting production goals through day to day production support and process improvements
  5. Will be involved in proposal development activities such as developing basis of estimate (BOE)
  6. Will work with suppliers to verify their manufacturing processes and products
  7. Will make disposition, as a member of material review board, or discrepant material manufactured and purchased


Required Skills or Experience:
  1. 5-10 years of development and production manufacturing experience
  2. Production processes and specifications associated with mechanical production and manufacturing, preferably in the defense industry environment
  3. Designing or maintaining manufacturing processes and associated documentation.
  4. Strong problem solving capabilities and advanced computer skills
  5. Product development and guiding mechanical assemblies through product development life cycle
  6. Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance, engineering change affectivity and product configuration management
  7. Ability to communicate with vendors and internal personnel
  8. SolidWorks experience
  9. Knowledge of metals and composite materials and associated finishes
  10. Knowledge of tooling and fixtures for medium to large structures
  11. Knowledge of electro-mechanical devices; such as, actuation systems, coolant and power distribution systems, measurement devices (encoders, tilt sensors, etc)
  12. Knowledge of ISO-9001:2015 procedures
