Production Engineer
Position Summary Production Engineer will support production/operations, improve cost/efficiency, increase quality/delivery, and promote safety of production processes. This position will also compile monthly reports and review technical specifications while maintaining safety and 5S at all times. This position has substantial discretion, autonomy and independence in the execution of his/her duties, decisions and/or responsibilities.
Research and participate in process improvement projects to increase shop efficiency.
Create, maintain, and review technical documents to support production processes.
Collect and analyze quantitative data to suggest and improve projects.
Provide technical knowledge of product and processes to operations and engineering.
Ensure compliance and adherence of products to applicable codes and specifications.
Investigate root causes of reoccurring issues and provide proper countermeasures.
Supervise and/or participate in testing of products.
Establish applicable standards, procedures, and forms for production processes. Manage welding documents.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
1. Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
2. 2 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment (May substitute 2 years with MS degree).
3. Excellent computer skills; MS office suite experience. 4. Knowledge of industry standards and terminology.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies 1. Comprehend mechanical drawings, such as Piping & Instrument Diagrams, general arrangements, and compressor detail. 2. Knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, AWS codes. 3. Knowledge of welding, piping, oil, and gas. 4. Project management and costs benefit analysis. 5. Problem solving and root cause analysis. 6. Ability to use precision measuring tools. 7. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 8. Ability to communicate, orally and written, with all personnel. 9. Practice safety and 5S disciplines daily. 10. Follow company procedures and objective.
