Position: Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Production Management

Role Summary:

This is a hands-on production management role that connects design to production, optimizes production methods, and ensures high product quality and on-time-delivery. This position reports directly to the President and supervises the production team on a day-to-day basis through shop floor leads.


Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering staff to prepare projects for manufacturing

Modify or create manufacturing and test procedures

Design, develop and verify manufacturing tooling and fixture changes

Oversee manufacturing staff to produce world-class products

Manage inventory control and supplier relations

Coach, mentor, provide feedback and improve the skill set and productivity of the team

Oversee product and subassembly QA/QC system

Resolve complex technical issues and deficiency root causes

Monitor, measure, report on Key Performance Indicators

Manage the production department schedule and overall workload of the team

Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment

Specify and oversee maintenance for production equipment within the department

Support operation improvement and efficiency initiatives

Follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree in Engineering Technology, Quality Engineering, or equivalent

Proven experience in a manufacturing or quality supervisory role

Ability to document and optimize processes and procedures

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Adaptable, with advanced analytical and problem solving skills

Intimate knowledge of an ERP system (Misys, SAP, Oracle, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:

BS degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

More than 5 years in a hands-on manufacturing supervisory role for high-value small-batch engineered systems

Past experience working in a production role (Precision assembly, machine shop, etc.)

ASQ Quality Engineering certification (CQE, CQA, CQM) a major plus

Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025

Database (Access) and Sharepoint proficiency

Proficiency in MiSys
