EH&S Coordinator
Ensures that EHS systems and programs are properly carried out and maintained for effective and efficient compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and provides occupational safety training for all employees according to Cal-OSHA regulations.

Core Function:
Coordinate and conduct training classes with department leaders, employees or outside contractors.
- Forklift Training
- Arial Lift Platform
Perform work to develop written safety programs and translate to Spanish as needed.
Develop and present department-specific training classes on EHS programs for supervisors and employee groups in a train-the-trainer format.
- Training for Group and Team Leaders
Assist department leader for implementation and execution of all EHS programs.
Participate in periodic site inspections for all facilities (1450 and 204) including Houston Service Shop.
Participate as an auditor for KSU sister company audits as needed.
Assess health and safety and evaluating trends and best practices to assist in the development of procedures in accordance with Cal/OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
  1. Must be self-motivated, energetic, and independent thinker.
  2. Must exhibit passion for safety compliance and environmental controls.
  3. Demonstrate clear and effective communication skills across a diverse range of personnel.
  4. Minimum: 2 years of related health and safety experience in general industry or construction.
  5. Preferred: BS degree in EH&S discipline or equivalent Engineering or Science degree.
  6. CPR/FA/AED Certified
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
  1. Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health, and safety management practices, principles, and procedures.
  2. Demonstrate successful leadership and guidance of health and safety management and interaction with all levels of management.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  4. Bilingual. Able to read, write and speak in Spanish.
