Fabrication Supervisor
Join our team and support our newly developed and proprietary fabrication process. The Fabrication Supervisor will oversee all plant production personnel, material, and equipment to ensure projects are executed in accordance with the defined process and project specifications, and the schedule. This includes communicating effectively with floor personnel to ensure work is properly delegated and deadlines are met, while resolving manufacturing issues as required. The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safety in all aspects of the manufacturing facility. As a Fabrication Supervisor you will have opportunity to learn our proprietary process, implement and monitor trainings for new employees and coordinate the movement of product through our manufacturing facility.
Requirements/Skills:
Track record of improving safety and quality while maintaining the production schedule
Experience in hands on shop supervision overseeing CNC, robotic machining and manual fabrication
Some experience in Lean methods including pull workflow
Shop skills such as woodworking, metal fabrication, and machining. Composites fabrication knowledge useful but not required
Self-starter with an ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across many teams
Ability to document and communicate KPIs and daily workflow outputs
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Health and Safety
Monitor and enforce safe working practices in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
Ensure proper and regular use of personal protective equipment.
Thorough communication, make staff aware of any existing, new or modified safety hazards.
Report known or suspected equipment or procedural deficiencies to the appropriate manager.
Assist in accident investigations, corrective measure implementation and facility audits if required. Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision and direction of various employees in a manufacturing environment including digital fabrication, composites manufacturing, and general shop skills.
Start each shift on time and ensure all team members are present and correctly allocated for the day's goals.
Communicate with team leads regarding issues from shift to shift.
Ensure paperwork is complete at each stage of fabrication and each day/week.
Actively monitor the fabrication process to ensure efficient performance.
Ensure any material found out of spec is properly identified with a red tag and kept aside for QA.
Monitor the fabrication work flow to assure meeting targets.
Ensure compliance to all quality related policies, procedures and system requirements.
Use root cause analysis to correct improving missed targets in safety, quality and performance
Perform annual employee reviews.
