Candidate will be developing an automated setup for grid-tied inverter testing of UL1741 SA smart grid functionality, based upon a pre-existing test platform using SunSpec SVP which executes Python scripts to issue commands to test equipment to perform grid interactive tests and simultaneous data collection. We would expect this candidate to work with hardware, and other test engineers to get the equipment configured and working in a test bed for product compliance testing in engineering.

Required:
  • Expert in python and GPIB, including PyVisa, Numpy and Panda
  • Thorough understanding of Chroma Automatic Test Equipment and test development platform.
  • Experience driving high levels of automation in DVT and Engineering testing.
  • Ability work with multidisciplinary teams, including EE, TE, FWE, and ME
  • Able to write both high level test scripts and instrument level drivers in Python.
  • Own Implementation of test automation on multiple different test stations and driving top level specifications and abstractions.
  • Work with Manufacturing test engineering to minimize duplication of work between engineering testing and manufacturing testing, reducing time to market.
  • Ability to perform cost/benefit analysis on automated development efforts and report results to management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
